We are expanding our IT leadership team and are looking for a Head of IT Planning & Management to join us at our headquarters in Germany. In this strategic role, you will act as a trusted partner to the Group IT Director, helping shape the strategic and operational direction of our IT organisation. You will lead a cross-functional team of five experts - spanning finance, communications, and change - and play a central role in strengthening performance, ensuring financial discipline, and driving internal alignment across our global IT community.

How you will spend your time as our next Head of IT Planning & Management:
You’ll work at the intersection of strategy, operations, and team leadership. As a peer to the IT leadership team, your role spans performance optimisation, financial governance, vendor coordination, change enablement, and communications - all supported by a skilled and motivated team. You’ll foster a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and collaborative delivery.
Define and monitor IT performance metrics and dashboards to track service quality and operational efficiency
Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of internal IT processes and best practices
Lead performance improvement initiatives in partnership with IT domain leaders across the organisation
Oversee the IT budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with Group Finance
Ensure transparency and accuracy in internal service cross-charging, supporting value-based IT cost communication
Coordinate IT procurement and vendor management practices, including strategic sourcing and supplier alignment
Oversee IT communications, change enablement, and knowledge-sharing activities, supporting internal transformation
Partner with the Group IT Director to plan and coordinate governance routines, leadership meetings, and annual planning cycles
Lead and develop a cross-functional team of experts, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth across finance, communication, and organisational change
Job requirements
What we expect of you:
Extensive leadership experience (10+ years) in IT management, business operations, or corporate functions within international and complex organisations, ideally in a shared service or IT service provider environment
Proven expertise in IT financial governance, including budget planning, cross-charging, and transparent value communication in collaboration with finance functions
Strong track record in performance management and process optimisation, with the ability to define KPIs, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and implement scalable IT processes
Solid understanding of IT procurement and vendor management, including contract negotiation, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance oversight
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex IT and financial topics into clear business language for diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence across specialist functions
Ability to work effectively in a complex collaborative, matrix environment with virtual teams in a multi-cultural / geographically diverse environment
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the capacity for mature judgment in challenging situations
A strong command of spoken and written English is a must, and knowledge of German is a plus
